Mickey Moniak Leads 4 MLB Waiver Wire Targets Who Would Boost Fantasy Lineups (May 4, 2026)

If you’re looking for MLB waiver wire help in your season-long fantasy baseball leagues, here are four players who would be strong additions to your roster. Some have been playing well throughout the season, and some are simply getting hot enough to make it impossible to overlook them.

Why You Should Add Kazuma Okamoto Off the MLB Waiver Wire

Trying to snatch Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Kazuma Okamoto off the waiver wire might be complicated, as he is already taken in around 60% of leagues. However, if you have the chance to add him to your roster, you should do so without thinking twice.

The third baseman has adjusted well to life in Toronto and has been on a tear of late, with four homers over his last three games. He’s obviously not going to sustain that pace throughout the entire season, but his recent numbers are just too good to ignore.

Even though he enters Monday’s slate hitting a mere .236, he’s posted a .791 OPS with nine homers, 22 RBI, and 18 runs scored in 138 plate appearances. Over his last 10 games, Okamoto is hitting .306 with a robust 1.196 OPS, so he’s clearly adjusting well to big-league pitching.

Targeting Mickey Moniak Is an Excellent Waiver Wire Decision

After Ildemaro Vargas’ hitting streak ended during the weekend series against the Chicago Cubs, now it’s official: Colorado Rockies outfielder Mickey Moniak is one of the hottest players in the majors and an absolute menace every time he steps up to the plate.

The fact that Moniak plays half of his games at Coors Field should boost his fantasy value even more, and he’s coming off a 2-for-4 performance in the loss to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, hitting two homers and racking up three RBI and a walk.

The outfielder remains scorching hot, as Sunday’s game was his fourth multi-homer game of the season while also extending his hitting streak to 16 contests. Overall, Moniak is slashing .327/.374/.724 with 11 homers, six doubles, 21 RBI, 19 runs, and a stolen base across 27 games. He’s rostered in slightly more than 50% of leagues, so there’s a decent chance you could find him available in your league.

Why You Should Consider Mark Vientos as a Waiver Wire Addition

Yes, I know what you’re thinking: Why would you target a hitter from the New York Mets, considering their season-long struggles? Well, third baseman Mark Vientos has been putting up solid numbers in most games, and he went deep twice in the win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.

He went cold in the middle of April, but Vientos might be starting to heat up of late. His OPS is up to .737 after 26 games, and he is hitting .265 with an .842 OPS over his last 10 games, tallying two homers, six RBI, four runs scored, and a 10:4 K:BB in that stretch. Vientos is seeing the ball well, too, as he’s hit safely in seven of his last 10 games.

Why You Should Add Connor Prielipp Off the Fantasy MLB Waiver Wire

It’s hard to judge Minnesota Twins hurler Connor Prielipp after just three starts at the big-league level, but he has been settling well in the majors so far. He tossed five innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays, allowing two earned runs and posting a 4:2 K:BB in that outing.

Prielipp has given up two earned runs or fewer in his first three starts at the MLB level, and while his roster spot on a long-term basis hasn’t been decided, he should remain in the rotation as long as Mick Abel (elbow) remains sidelined. Prielipp has yet to complete more than five innings in any of his three starts so far, but he’s holding his own with a 3.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 15:5 K:BB thus far. Prielipp should make his next start against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday.
