Yordan Alvarez Anchors 4 Wednesday DFS Picks That Could Boost Fantasy Baseball Lineups (April 29, 2026)

Wednesday has another loaded slate in fantasy baseball, which means you have to analyze your rosters and lineups to get the best possible results. If you’re looking for advice, here’s a lineup you should consider stacking, plus hitters and pitchers to target in DFS formats, as well as one to avoid across all formats, even if the matchup says otherwise.

Why You Should Stack the Dodgers Against Sandy Alcantara

The Dodgers are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Marlins and have been trending in the wrong direction of late after winning two of three against the Chicago Cubs last weekend. However, this is a game in which the offense might wake up, given the excellent results some of the hitters in the Los Angeles lineup have had against Alcantara in the past.

There’s Freddie Freeman, who has hit .313 with a .858 OPS and a homer across 32 at-bats against Alcantara. Max Muncy, who hasn’t been getting enough attention overall, has hit .300 with a .983 OPS and two homers versus the Marlins’ ace. Will Smith has a .375 average and an .813 OPS, and Teoscar Hernandez has been even better with a .455 average and 1.273 OPS in 11 at-bats.

Let’s not forget about Kyle Tucker getting into a groove offensively and the steady contributions from the likes of Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages as well. The Dodgers are absolutely stacked, and with Alcantara going 2-5 with an ERA of 9.57 and 39 strikeouts in eight appearances against the Dodgers in his career, the stage is set if you want to stack the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Why Yordan Alvarez is an Elite DFS and Home Run Target

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a walk in Tuesday’s game against the Orioles, and while he was unable to make a big impact in the box score, the star slugger managed to keep his hitting streak alive. He’s now riding a 13-game hitting streak with seven multi-hit performances over that stretch while slashing .389/.431/.759 with a 1.190 OPS. Simply put, Alvarez has been the hottest hitter in the majors over the last two weeks.

As if the 13-game hitting streak wasn’t enough of a reason to make him a valuable fantasy alternative across all formats, Alvarez will have an excellent matchup against Chris Bassitt. He’s hitting .409 with a 1.598 OPS and five homers across 22 at-bats against him, so it shouldn’t be surprising if Alvarez has a strong game. He’s probably the top hitter in DFS ahead of Wednesday’s slate, and he should also be a lock for home run prop bets.

Why Rafael Devers is a DFS Fade on Fantasy Baseball’s Wednesday Slate

Devers has had an underwhelming start to the 2026 MLB season, hitting a measly .200 with a .527 OPS since the beginning of April. The full-season sample doesn’t look much better, with the slugging first baseman posting a .548 OPS, .211 average, two homers, four doubles, and a worrying 36:7 K:BB in 29 games.

Devers has gone yard just twice and is hitting slightly above the Mendoza Line, roughly one-sixth into the season. That’s… not good.

Even though he has a favorable matchup against Cristopher Sanchez, against whom he’s hit .500 with a 1.250 OPS in eight at-bats, that’s not enough to tip the scales in his favor. You should play the safe card and avoid Devers on Wednesday’s slate, regardless of which format you’re playing.

Trust Bubba Chandler as a Streaming Pitcher Across All Fantasy Baseball Formats

There are a lot of high-quality arms taking the mound on Wednesday, but one player who should be targeted as a streaming candidate is Bubba Chandler.

The Pirates’ young hurler has a favorable matchup against an NL Central rival, the St. Louis Cardinals, and he’s in dire need of a bounce-back performance after allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a loss to the Rangers on April 23 in his last start.

Luckily for Chandler, the Cardinals could be a favorable matchup for him. Even though they rank in the top 10 in several categories, such as runs scored (11th, 140) and collective OPS (ninth, .722), this is also a lineup that has overachieved while also being anchored by one particularly strong hitter who’s having an excellent start to the year in Jordan Walker (8 HR, 19 RBI, .905 OPS).

Chandler had given up three or fewer earned runs in his previous four starts and will also have the advantage of pitching at PNC Park, so this could be a nice bounce-back scenario for him.
